IT Job Descriptions and Job Progressions

Everyone in IT wants to understand job responsibilities and opportunities for growth.  Now you can provide this vital information to everyone.  

Individuals perform best when they know what's expected of them and have a clearly defined path for growth.  In addition, knowing who's responsible for each element of the IT service delivery function is an essential first step in reducing conflicts, improving collaboration, and establishing clear and effective channels of communication throughout the IT organization. Clearly written Job Descriptions and well designed Job Progressions provide this vital information. 

Working with key personnel from IT and HR, CSG jump starts the process by using CSG's generic set of IT position matrix templates to identify Job Families relevant for your organization's current and/or proposed structure.  Then for each Job Family, CSG will develop an integrated set of detailed Position Descriptions, and Job Progressions to ensure that each member of the IT Organization has:

  • a complete and up-to-date descriptions of all of the key responsibilities and requirements for his or her current job; and
