CSG’s
generic Process Landscape provides a high-level overview of the process
environment of a typical IS function
along with the organizational units
responsible for executing each of the key component processes and the IS
jobs typically associated with each process step.
By facilitating a series of interactive design sessions with key
members of the IS organization, CSG can quickly customize its generic model to reflect the
client
organization’s unique requirements and activities – how it transforms
business opportunities into IS-enabled solutions and provides support for
them – and who in the organization is responsible for each process
element.
Therefore,
the Process Landscape as a whole indicates what IS does – how
business opportunities become IS-enabled solutions and how

then how the organization could function differently to deliver even
greater value to the business, the client
When
this model is finalized, and it reflects “Best Practices” for the
client organization, it provides IS with a sound foundation for designing,
developing, and/or refining:
-
IS work
processes and associated performance metrics;
-
internal
and external communication programs;
-
activities
critical to quality and service delivery;
-
job
descriptions;
-
job
progressions;
-
IS roles and
responsibilities; and
-
performance
management expectations;
with specificity, consistency, and confidence.
